When Arleen Figueroa purchased her first house with her boyfriend Elvis, she not only found her dream home, she found a new career.
“The process of buying a home and having that feeling of joy and excitement was great,” Arleen said. “I want to be able to assist people with having those feelings of accomplishment and joy as we did.”
Arleen, who currently works full-time as the Skills Trainers Supervisor for Stavros Center for Independent Living in Amherst, decided to pursue real estate part-time. In addition to generating a second income, she was impressed by her agent Nikky Immeziano and broker Steve Rovithis, both from Rovithis Realty. “I remember we were at a showing late one night,” she said. “We had a question and [Nikky] wasn’t sure so she proceeded to call [Steve]. He answered right away and explained to us what we needed to know. I was so shocked that he answered and was right there when she needed him.”
After Arleen mentioned she was thinking of pursuing realty herself, Nikky highly recommended joining Rovithis. “After I took the class and did my research, I knew exactly where I wanted to be,” Arleen said.
“The drive, energy and commitment that Steve brings to the agents and company is indestructible, and the way he gives back to the local community is great,” she said. “Our agents are all so supportive of each other. Everyone is literally a call or text away.”
“Quality performance starts with a positive attitude and that's what Arleen brings to the table,” Steve said. “Her willingness to go all in, with an already busy life, demonstrates her dedication to this industry. I'm excited to see how far she can take her career.”
“I am very appreciative for the opportunity that Steve has given me as a brand new agent,” she said. “My mentor Jared [Hamre] has been very helpful along with everyone else within the company. They set you up to succeed; it’s all up to you how far you go.”
Not only is Rovithis Realty a good fit, but so is being a real estate agent. Arleen enjoys interacting with people and chasing the perfect house for her clients. “I love to chat with other people, hear their opinions and be able to serve them with what they are looking for,” she said. “Although the real estate industry can be a bit challenging and difficult at times, the rewarding feeling when you find a client the house of their dreams in priceless.”
Balancing careers isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. “Although I enjoy real estate very much, I do love my initial career,” she said. “The job is so rewarding.”
Arleen is not a stranger to working hard. She had a great role model: her mom. “She made me the strong and independent woman I am today,” Arleen said. “She taught me to never give up on anything I ever wanted to accomplish regardless of what others had to say.”
A mom herself, Arleen is passing down this work ethic to her 6-year-old-son Randy. “I always want the best for us,” she said. “I set my standards high and work hard to get things done. The visions I have for our future are what make me strive for more.”
What’s her secret to forging this new career? “Have a good and positive attitude,” she said. “Be open to constructive criticism and listen to those who have been in real estate and are actually successful.”

"We bought a home in Enfield, CT with Steve 6 years ago and it was a wonderful experience. Then 5 years after after purchasing the home, we put it on the market with him as our agent. Based off his advise and hard work we received multiple offers and got just above our asking price. Shortly thereafter Steve then helped us purchase a home in East Longmeadow, MA. With all 3 transactions he was great. Steve always answered our calls and promptly returned emails. We love our new home and never want to move but if we did, Steve would be our agent. Can't say enough about him."
